I got a request from “anonymous” asking me to make a video about counter-strike 1.6 rates. So I did… I was busy, so I made it quick.
Usually default rates people in CAL (http://www.caleague.com) use are
Rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
ex_interp 0.01
Those rates are referred as “LAN Rates”
Rates I use since I have comcast could be those rates but instead I use
Rate 20000
cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
ex_interp 0.01

*Remember rates dont help you shoot better or give you more skill…and it sure isnt hacking because some noobs think that

fps should be 100 always. Prefrably running on an screen with at least 100hz.
Use net_graph 3 to go from cl_updatreate 101 and down til u get stabil ms. Some server jumps much refargdless. Takes some testing. cl_cmdrate at least as much as u got fps.
After those are set u type in ex_interp 0.
rest of configuration for hitting good is hardware or serverconfig.
If you have an router do a test and play a day without it. Some adds a distinct delay in most actions you do without adding ms to ping.

@dalkordigo What would you recommend for MAX FPS in 1.6 ( I think it’s 60/100? ) 30-70 ping and a computer that would have NO problem running ANY rates etc etc.
No matter what I do seems like I NEVER get reg. and although I have MAX FPS and good ping WITH a good computer It feels laggy,Or “Looks” laggy.I dunno.Any advice?

Those rates are unplayable
Never play where you have to go under 50 clupd. and never use lower then what you have in fps for cl_cmdrate.
Oh and always use ex_interp 0 so it changes automaticly when you lower cl_upd.
If some people do look laggy constantly its beacase they run wrong rates. If i played you when you have those rates i would ridicule and laugh at you.

Rates have to do with NETWORK – They have nothing to do with your computer locking up. If your computer is locking up, it simply doesn’t like counter-strike source as a program due to incompatible hardware.
