    The bill doesn’t have anything to do with socialized healthcare.

    @TheUSMetalhead How will this single-payer option be less expensive and bring prices down? Single payer is the last thing we want.

    @mrpitchf0rk …
    @mrpitchf0rk discussion = bill, bill = obamacare. Are you actually going to talk about the issues or just blab on about your lack of understanding.

  4. mrpitchf0rk says:

    WE are not talking …
    WE are not talking about Obamacare, /YOU/ are talking about Obamacare.

    You are the FIRST PERSON to bring up Obamacare in the ENTIRE CONVERSATION. PLEASE learn to read.

  5. mrpitchf0rk says:

    Yeah. All YOU …
    Yeah. All YOU listed. Which have nothing to do with the discussion.

    Oh… kay……..

    Oh… kay……..

    When were we talking about Obamacare? I thought we were talking about the financial strain the new bill set on insurance companies.

  8. dlmac says:

    @mrpitchf0rk …
    @mrpitchf0rk government healthcare, obamacare, socialized healthcare…

  9. dlmac says:

    @mrpitchf0rk you …
    @mrpitchf0rk you will have to tell me where you have seen these statements because that is ridiculous. Many…high taxes, long waits for many services, no competition to spur lower prices, better service. A the denial of many drugs needed by patients.

    @mrpitchf0rk To liberals it seems MAKING money is bad.I thought liberals only believed in TAKING money.You know evil corporate greed and the rest of that nonsense.The Turk and his gang are always talking about the evils of greed and the fans just hate capitalism.

    Nader warned us …
    Nader warned us neither party would change the most important ill of our health care system, getting the private insurance companies out for good. Without this rates will continue to rise, benefits will continue to be cut, no matter what laws are put into a bill that doesn’t force private insurers out of health care 100% forever will do nothing to stop them from finding and implementing new ways to make our system more expensive and less beneficial to us.
    Single-payer is our only hope.

    @xp19375 If you get it through your employer you often don’t have a choice as to which health insurance company you go through.

    Listen. I dont want a complete takeover of the health insurance companies. Infact, I would like to see a complete dismantling of the health insurance companies. Start over. Reset button.

    The whole process is flawed.

    @xp19375 We do have …
    @xp19375 We do have the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) that regulates the food industry to assure that the American people get good quality food. Without it the food industry would be allowed to sell anything they wanted.

    Have you ever eaten the beef in Mexico, and I’m not talking the 5 Star resort beef either. The purpose of government regulations is to protect the people. If the banks and Wall street would have been regulated perhaps we wouldn’t have had to fork over $750 billion.

    @mrpitchf0rk well …
    @mrpitchf0rk well the bible says god exisits so it must be true right? how much fox news do you watch everday?! you have absolutly no proof or even statistics that show it will reduce the national debt. raising taxes does not increase internal revenue. it just makes the government think they can spend even more money…

    Also, if …
    @ohgrx

    Also, if something is a need, that doesn’t mean that we should have the government to run it. Without food you die, so food is a need. We don’t have collective farming, but other countries have tried that. In every instance, it has led to starvation.

    @ohgrx

    Competition works to improve services and reduce prices. I will not buy a health insurance policy if the company is notorious for dropping people or if it is too expensive. Companies will find their niche – some offering less coverage at a lower price, some offering more coverage at a higher price. You are free to choose between them.
    Healthcare is a need, but health insurance is a want, most of the time, since we want it to pay for many things we should just pay out of pocket for.

    And tell me, what negative effect has Canada’s healthcare had on it? /Do/ tell.

  24. dlmac says:

    @mrpitchf0rk The …
    @mrpitchf0rk The fact that it cannot really compete in the free market, that is the financial strain. The bill only extends the governments reach, prices will no longer reflect, if they even do now, what it really cost for a service or product in the health field.
