Hi I’m Tom Santoro. I have been a real estate consultant in Orange County, California for over 30 years and a Certified Financial Planner for over 25.

Today I would like to take this opportunity to inform those of you with substantial assets in your IRA or 401k that you can invest in individual real estate inside your plan. This option has been allowed by the IRS since the 1970′s but many retirement plan holders and advisors are unaware of it.

This technique allows people to take advantage of today’s incredible Real Estate values. I have personally assisted many of my own clients in using this great investment vehicle.

You should consider this type of investment if you:
- are familiar or wish to become familiar with Real Estate investing
- are uncertain about investing in the stock and bond markets
- are fed up with the current low CD rates that do not keep up with inflation and have no potential for appreciation
Or -are not interested in losing control with risky group investments

Your IRA or 401k can even invest with you or someone you know as a co-investor.

Although a number of required steps must be followed, this can be accomplished with the help of an experienced advisor.

Your bank or stock brokerage IRA will not allow you to invest in Real Estate because it is not an investment they are familiar with. You will need to place your retirement funds with a custodian capable of allowing you to self direct your funds into a real estate investment. Fortunately there are a number of good companies available that allow this type of investment.
